the things I like, do you like them too?

I'm a married mother of two -let's watch tv,
let's read books, let's listen to music, and most important of all
let's like what we like and not be ashamed of it.

A friend of mine just posted a picture of her children wearing vampire teeth and clever me commented, “breastfeeding must have sucked.”

And Littlefoot knew for certain that he was alone.

                  (via benvoliotheorphan)

Bambi and Lion King immediately tried to distract children from the deaths of the parents. Bambi had the sweet little birds come flying in, and singers coming in to sing about them. Lion King, while they showed Simba running away, Scar ascending the throne, we can’t focus on that TOO much so let’s throw in a wacky, zany song by two new characters who sing about forgetting your worries! No, quick, jingle the shiny keys in the sad child’s face before they get too sad about the dead characters!

But Don Bluth and his team brought a movie that showed actual stages of grief with this little dinosaur and it is powerful to this day.

This movie KILLS me.

This was my favorite movie as a child and we don’t have to fight because it WAS the saddest death in an animated film. She died saving him and Cera (which is also important considering the fantastic racism about how the dinosaurs only stick to their own kind yet she defended and protected Cera as if she was her own) and tried to comfort him while she was dying and he ends up alone without any adult protection trying to find the Great Valley and his grandparents. He meets the others along the way but like the moments where you see him angry, sad, hurt, etc. like his scene with Rooter? Wow…

It’s just painful as hell but it was beautifully done.

I will always have nothing but love for this movie.

Favorite Disney Songs [5/10]  » Colors of the Wind
… have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon, or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned? Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? Can you paint with all the colors of the wind. Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
